Principles

General Principles

  • We uphold the Universal Declaration of Human Rights
  • We affirm the following five pillars from the Humanist Manifesto III:

  1. Knowledge of the world is derived by observation, experimentation & rational analysis.
  2. Ethical values are derived from human needs and interests as tested by experience.
  3. Life’s fulfillment emerges from individual participation in the service of humane ideals.
  4. Working to benefit society maximizes individual happiness.
  5. Humans are social by nature and find meaning in relationships.

Politics & Religion

Ensaneyoun is not a political organization and holds no aspirations to become one. It firmly supports the separation of religion and state, opposing any attempts to merge religious and political authority. Public policy should remain free from religious influence and not be shaped by political agendas rooted in faith. The organization rejects the use of religion as a tool for violence, oppression, or censorship, standing against any form of subjugation, persecution, or restriction on free speech and expression.

Rationality, Freedom of Speech & Science

Freedom of speech is a fundamental right, allowing individuals to discuss, critique, and engage with philosophical, religious, and political ideas. No belief system or ideology is exempt from scrutiny. A culture of reason and evidence-based decision-making is encouraged, fostering critical thinking about values, ideas, and society. Education, science, and rational discourse serve as pillars for progress, helping counter misinformation and propaganda.
